How to make mahjong?

How much do you know the traditional Mahjong craftsmanship? What were the tools used in the manufacturing processes from 1960s to 2000s in Hong Kong?

Mahjong is a quintessential part of the traditional Hong Kong way of life, especially to the Karen, whose grandfather and father were involved in operating a well-known big Mahjong making factory named “Fuk Hing Lung”.

Inspired by family ties in the mahjong tile manufacturing business, Karen illustrates the ‘How to Make Mahjong’ artwork – an intimate tale that combines family heritage and Hong Kong culture, showcasing how this city’s old tradition of mahjong craftsmanship is transformed into artistry, and describe the whole manufacturing process in the old Hong Kong.
